Lumps and bumps in the head and neck are generally benign in children. Some may be left over from embryologic development and some may present later in life. The work up for these requires thoughtful decision making. The challenge lies in offering the right level of concern, evaluation and treatment – not too much, not too little. It helps to have experience and training with the types of masses that are unique to kids.
