Sleep apnea is a serious medical condition that affects not just adults but up to 3% of children. Symptoms that indicate sleep apnea include snoring, restless sleep, frequent awakening, bed wetting, struggling to breathe while asleep, daytime fatigue, difficulty controlling mood and behavior, and mouth breathing. Younger children may present with poor weight gain and may gag on solid foods. If your child has these issues, they may benefit from evaluation. You will sleep better knowing your child is getting the restorative sleep s/he needs!
